To be considered for articles at the CER, applicants must:
- have an LLB and a tertiary degree in environmental law
- have a passion for environmental rights and environmental justice
- have a sound understanding of legal and procedural requirements for environmental decision-making and legal challenges
- be able to work independently, without constant supervision, and to take initiative
- be sensitive to social issues and needs
- be committed to high quality client service
- be prepared to work hard and integrate themselves in the CER attorneys’ practices
- be willing to travel throughout South Africa
- understands the constraints of working for a non-profit organisation, and can be resourceful within these constraints
Candidates who have already attended the School for Legal Practice will receive preference, but this is not a requirement.
