An internship programme is now available for Chris Hani Municipality in 2013. This is a great chance for someone with the qualifications to get experience for a role that they’re after. Chris Hani District Municipality wishes to invite applications from unemployed graduates residing within the Chris Hani jurisdiction to assist in its Project Implementation and the Operations and Maintenance Programme and other operations in the Chris Hani District Municipality area. The programme will take the form of an internship for the duration of two years and forms part of the Chris Hani District Municipality’s Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
The workstation and mentors of the interns will be placed within the main offices of the District and eight Local Municipalities within the District.

NOTE:
Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a practical assessment. The successful candidates will be mentored by our staff and Professional Service Providers who are currently managing the Project Implementation. The programme forms part of Chris Hani District Municipality’s strategy which is aimed at addressing scarce skills.
How to Apply:
Applications are open to all students residing within the Chris Hani District Municipality and preferably residing in the local municipalities in which they will be placed.
NB: Successful candidates will be required to enter into a fixed term contract with the Council for the period of two years. It is expected that the successful applicants will be stationed within the respective local municipalities that fall within the jurisdiction of the Chris Hani District Municipality. Remuneration: Successful applicants will be entitled to a stipend of R 3125.00 per month

Application letters accompanied by comprehensive CVs and certified copies of qualifications must be submitted to Chris Hani District Municipal Offices not later than 25th of January 2013 at 12 Noon. No faxed CV’s or emailed application will be accepted. It will be expected of candidates to be available for selection assessments on a date and time to be determined by the municipality. If the candidate/applicant is found canvassing any of the officials or councilors, he/she automatically disqualifies him/herself. If the candidate has not been contacted within one month of the closing date he/she must accept that his/her application was unsuccessful.
