We got information from South Africa Government Information website at www.info.gov.za that the Department of Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison, Human Settlements Branch need 40 unemployed men and women. The age should be under 35 years and ready to work for a 12 months in learnership programme on building and civil construction (NQF 3) courses. This programme aims to encourage more young people to enter the building construction field.
The departmental MEC, Nono Maloyi said the department is faced with a huge challenge of lack of professionals in the construction industry and it intends to recruit and encourage more young unemployed men and women to address the challenge.
“The learnership programme is one of the programmes we are using to as government to address this challenge and we intend to recruit more young people as this will also reduce the high number of unemployment in the country which was one of the priorities outlined by the State President Jacob Zuma during his State of the Nation Address earlier this year,” said Maloyi.
